I seem to have finally found my love in art. I thought, was convinced, even, that I knew what it meant to love art. I was undeniably wrong. My love for art stems from my love for life. My love to learn how things work, to be able to make something work, and to make it awesome... fuuuck. You don't know how... exhilarating it feels. And to absorb everyone's concepts on how this universe works, be it physical, metaphysical, spiritual, philosophical, theoretical -

Yea, I'm rambling.

So anyway, I feel that 2009 will determine my path as an artist. Called it. I mean, it has to. I'd feel uneasy otherwise. And no, this doesn't mean that I'll have my own style yet. That's not my aim this year. For that matter, I haven't even gotten rid of my tendencies yet. The hell! I totally wasted a year and a half!

No, not really.

On a side note, I think I figured out what it means to sell out as an artist. Luckily, I'm not so far down the ditch to resort to that.

Things to remember:

do what you want
get noticed
patience
sacrifice
have fun

and only after you've absorbed all necessary information, can you THEN have your two cents.

My life is turning way too slow. I'm picking up the pace.

Oooh boy. I went to my first convention-thing this weekend and I can't even compare to anyone there... well... minus those comics that they hand out for free. Those look like garbage, but anyway, there were people that looked like they were my age drawing amazing stuff and such.

Aside from the mindless animating I've been doing during the past 4 months, I can't really say I improved as much as I would have wanted this semester. I lack drive. I'm no genius like a lot of people I know, so I actually have to try hard to get to where I wanna be. Wow, after almost a year, I'm finally gonna start getting serious. I really want to be good.

I miss the days when drawing was relaxing and I never had to worry about anatomy and perspective issues. A part of me died during this half of 2008.

That was the weak part. I'm cooler now.
